great slide show. it seems like i had a totally different conception of the melody of this song than what it sounds like now. don't know if that's really true or if i was just the only one who really knew the right melody. probably i was the only one who was right. that's usually how it was. and how it still is. i'm... so lonely.
I had forgotten the "U.S. spells us and that's our favorite word," but I've often broken out in that particular song and even though I can't sing, had the melody right.
Brattelboro seemed such a sad & lonely day, but my memories of Montpelier are sunny.
